Hey people, like I've promised, here is the update on my application to be a writer on YouthMalaysia.com.
Well, guess what?
I got the job offer, and I anticipate you guys should be seeing my entries on their website anytime soon (as soon as they assign me to something of course!)
Congratulations to myself =)
French is getting tough by the days, but tonnes more fun too. Classes on Saturdays rock, I get breaks between each 2-hour session, and hence I get to indulge myself into croissants and tea. But I do miss night classes, because I am simply a lazy bummer who cannot be up early! I was 10 minutes late for class; and it is my first time late to the place!
Just so to share, my blog registered views from the EU and UAE recently. LOL. I bet you guys know who you are. Thank you for supporting =)
The ads are coming back with great responses, which is a good sign; I think I have enough funds to maintain 2008. Great help. Thanks.
Oh yes, anyone up for a dinner at Batu Feringhi's Shangri-La Rasa Sayang or Golden Sands? I am an Exclusive Dining Club member, so this month, Mondays to Thursdays - there is a 40% discount for meals there. Do your maths! RM1000-6pax-Fine Dining-Rasa Sayang. RM600-6 pax now. So RM100 per person. Cheap WHAT. I mean, it's a fancy place, what do you expect anyways? I am also entitled for a 20% off published room rate. So yes, anyone up to belanja me? I do need a retreat. Speaking of which, I'm eyeing Phuket or Koh Samui. I saw my KDU A-level junior's blog(Gajen), apparently he went to Phuket recently. I know lots of vice things go around there, but who cares lah kan. The beach is superb. I need a retreat, I reiterate. LOL. But nevermind, I will make do with Langkawi should my KDU ex-classmates crack to make their plans a reality. Siew Ling, my high school friend is up to plan for us something too, God knows what's on her mind, but I guess it'll be something really GOOD. Arghh.
Oh yes, l'argent(money), c'est un problem. Mom says she would give me and my brothers each RM 1000 to shop in KL. If I'm smart I can be thrifty and spend just 60% of it. The rest can go to my oh-so-untouchable Al-Rajhi account to last for my outings/vacations up till I go off for my studies. (I have my funds there, I mean my OWN reserves. LOL).
King's got back to me stating why they have not changed my study offer to an unconditional one; apparently its because of UCAS' online system. I have to accept the conditional offer given to me before the offer can be changed to an unconditional one.So I did just that, and in order to do that, I need to have all of the universities' decisions. Queen Mary had not replied me, so I withdrew my application from them. So for now my UK uni application status is:
King's College, Univ of London : Firm Conditional
London School of Economics and Political Sciences : Application Rejected
Univ of Manchester: Insurance Conditional
Queen Mary, Univ of London: Application Withdrawn
Univ of Birmingham: Conditional- Declined.
I will start applying for my accommodation in King's and Manchester next week or so. Then I plan to do my UK student visa when I get my unconditional offer. I anticipate to get this done by the end of May.
Adoi, notebook lagi! Haven't got myself a notebook computer, that would be done before mid-May I suppose.
By the way, right now, I'm obsessed with Anuar Zain's Perpisahan. I mean, I know the song's over a year or so, but well, who cares lah kan? I do get my ear fine tuned late. So hence it explains it all.
LOL. For my kind readers' information, I am going for Disney On Ice this coming Saturday. The last time I went was in 2006 with Inaz and Raymond. Well, this time around it's not that I want to go, but rather I'm offered tickets to watch. Sayang la pulak kan kalau tak guna.
Alright people. We'll catch up soon.
Cheers.
Take care.
Lots of love
Riz F
